Privacy Policy
The short version
Phoenix Rise does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. Nothing you write in the app is sent to us or to anyone else, because the app has no way to send it. Your alarm settings and your gratitude entries are stored on your iPhone and nowhere else.
If you delete the app, that information is deleted with it.
What we collect
Nothing.
Phoenix Rise has no servers. It makes no network requests. It contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not know who you are, whether you use the app, or what you write in it.
In Apple's App Privacy terms, Phoenix Rise is“Data Not Collected.”
What the app stores on your iPhone
All of this lives in the app's private storage on your device. None of it leaves your phone.
- Your alarm: the time, which days it repeats, and the soundscape you chose
- Your name, if you enter one, so the app can greet you by it
- Your gratitude entries, with the date and time you wrote them, and which soundscape woke you
- An in-progress entry, if you are interrupted partway through, so you can finish it later
- Small preferences, such as which suggested prompts you have hidden
You can view everything the app has saved in the Mornings tab.
Sharing
Phoenix Rise does not share, sell, transmit, or sync your information. There is no third party involved.
The app includes an Export my mornings option in Settings. If you use it, your entries are handed to iOS's standard share sheet and you choose where they go: Messages, Mail, Notes, or anywhere else. What happens after that is governed by whichever app you chose, not by us.
Device backups
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, your Phoenix Rise data may be included in that backup, in the same way as data from your other apps. Those backups are made and controlled by you through Apple, and are covered by Apple's privacy policy rather than ours. We have no access to them.
You can exclude app data from backups in your iPhone's iCloud settings.
Permissions the app asks for
- Alarms. Phoenix Rise uses Apple's AlarmKit to wake you at the time you set, and to keep ringing when your phone is locked, silenced, or in Sleep Focus. This is what an alarm clock needs to work.
That is the only permission the app requests. Phoenix Rise does not ask for and cannot access your location, microphone, camera, photos, contacts, calendar, health data, or motion data.
Deleting your information
- One entry: open it in Mornings and choose Delete this morning.
- Everything you have written: Settings → Your data → Delete all mornings.
- All of it: delete the app. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, removing the app removes your data.
There is nothing for you to request from us, because we do not hold anything.
Children
Phoenix Rise is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since the app collects no information at all, there is nothing for us to collect from a child either.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Phoenix Rise ever collects or transmits information, we will update this policy before that version is released, and say plainly what changed. We will not quietly begin collecting data under a policy that says we do not.
